Navella George accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Newark, New Jersey under the leadership of the late Reverend W J Harris. She immediately began working in ministry and served at Pleasant Grove for over 35.
Navella George surrendered to the call to preach the gospel, preaching her initial sermon on October 29, 2013 and was licensed under Pastor, Reverend Vincent M. Rouse Sr. at Pleasant Grove. She served as an Associate Minister and Co-Leader of the Marriage Ministry alongside her husband Deacon Abraham George.
Because of her eager desire to serve the Lord with excellence, Minister George attended and graduated from New York Theological Seminary with a Certificate in Christian Education in 2008. She continued her education and graduated from Pillar Christian College with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling in May 2015 and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling in May 2019. Currently, Pastor George is enrolled in the chaplaincy program at Atlantic Health.
On October 7th 2017 Minister George was ordained by the North Jersey District Missionary Association. Shortly after on October 15, 2017 she was elected at 100% as Pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Newton NJ., Where she is currently serving as the peacock proud Pastor. She started a 501c3 nonprofit organization named G.R.A.C.E to assist under previleged families in urban areas.
Pastor George is the Liaison to Pastors for Kingdom Destiny Fellowship International (KDFI). She is also affiliated with organizations such as Newark Interfaith Clergy Alliance, Full gospel Fellowship, and North Jersey Missionary District Association.
Reverend George is happily married to Deacon Abraham George Jr. and together they have one son, Noel George, whom they love dearly.
Reverend George professes to always minister from her heart and continues to be guided by one of her favorite songs: “Lord I’m available to you, use me Lord to show someone the way”. That God might be glorified.
